Delhi was founded by Gujjar Tanwars and named after the Gujjar Pratihar Emperor Mihir Bhoja the Great as Mihirawli, now called as Mehrauli is still dominated by Gujjar Tanwars.
Mr. Kanwar Singh Tanwar belong to a village Fateh Pur. This is really a good pace of progress by Gujjar tanwars considering the fcat that no Gujjar Male of more than 12 years of age of Fateh Pur was left alive after the 1857 revolt.
All the three candidates for Delhi assembly seats are from Tanwar gotra of Gujjars.
Here is the report about him published in a leading National News Paper. This BSP candidate is worth Rs 150 crore 11 Nov 2008, 0241 hrs IST, Dipak Kumar Dash, TNN Print Email Discuss Share Save Comment Text: NEW DELHI: He is perhaps the richest candidate in the fray for the Delhi assembly elections. BSP nominee from Chhatarpur Kanwar Singh Tanwar disclosed that he owned movable and immovable assets worth Rs 150 crore while filing his nomination papers on Monday afternoon. His net worth is thus almost 15 times the MLA local area development fund an elected representative is entitled to during his five-year tenure.
In a scenario where the majority of candidates prefer to be "discreet" when it comes to disclosing their wealth, Tanwar says "submitting wrong information in an affidavit is a crime" and that's precisely why he was "honest" in filing his affidavit. "Why should I hide anything? Wrong disclosure does not help as people of my locality know about my wealth. They are aware I have joined politics not to make money but to work for them and my locality,'' the aspiring MLA said.
Tanwar was born to a village assessee. Now a large chunk of his disclosed wealth is in the form of agricultural and non-agricultural land which includes a farmhouse in his name and an apartment owned by his wife worth Rs 5.3 crore. Clubbed together the total comes to Rs 150 crore. Besides this, his affidavit submitted with the returning officer (Mehrauli) also includes a fleet of luxury cars worth Rs 1.66 crore. Three of them are Mercs and he also owns a tractor, an indicator of his rural roots. Tanwar, who has dabbled in real estate as well, belongs to village Fatehpur Beri near Chhatarpur.
Moreover, he and his wife have invested approximately Rs 4.16 crore in banks and bonds and both of them have jewellery worth Rs 21.5 lakh. Surprisingly, this politician has taken two loans amounting to Rs 24.95 lakh from two banks.
Tanwar, who is also the secretary of BSP Delhi state unit, claims neither he nor his family have ever shown off wealth. His close associates maintain that the leader has come this far through sheer hard work. In fact, this was evident when thousands of his supporters marched behind him when he started his padyatra from his village led by two elephants, the "live" party symbols.
Locals maintain the leader has earned enough good will with his social service in the last seven or eight years. "What's wrong if he has huge wealth? He has been running two AC dispensaries on wheels to provide free health care to the needy. He has been providing water free of charge to people with his fleet of over 20 water tankers,'' said Yogendra Bidhuri of Chhatarpur village.
Tanwar provides all these services under the umbrella of Narayani Devi Trust, which has been named after his mother and his father is the chairman of the body. This BSP candidate also distributes monthly pension to approximately 1,700 widows. "To ensure this continues, the trust has invested Rs 10 crore as fixed deposit,'' said one of his close aides.
Sure of his victory, the leader promises to bring maximum government funds to his constituency and to work for all round development of the locality. "I am not money hungry. With God's grace I have enough to take care of my family. I will give back to everyone if they elect me,'' Tanwar says.

Here is another news confirming the fact the Founders of Delhi The Gujjar Tanwars, still dominate the Chhatar Pur ( Mehruali Seat). Gujjars hold key to winning Chhatarpur seat 11 Nov 2008, 0241 hrs IST, Dipak Kumar Dash, TNN Print Email Discuss Share Save Comment Text: NEW DELHI: It was the epicentre of the Gujjar protests in the capital last year when the fight for OBC status by the community in Rajasthan was at its peak. Hardly any surprises then that the Gujjar factor is the deciding one in the Chhatarpur Assembly constituency and hence all the three major political parties - BJP, Congress and BSP - have left nothing to chance by fielding candidates from the community. Anybody else locals say, would have "started as a loser.'' Which is what makes Chhatarpur an interesting contest.
This is one constituency which has undergone the least change due to delimitation. Over 90% of Mehrauli constituency (before delimitation came to force) has come under the Chhatarpur constituency and only Ghittorni village has been added. This also is a Gujjar dominated locality and has thus not altered the demographic pattern too much. Rough estimates suggest Gujjars have the highest vote share of 30%, followed by OBCs (20%) and SC (16%).
Considering the influential presence of this community and majority of the villages falling under this constituency dominated by Tanwars, a sub-group of Gujjars, Congress has fielded its sitting MLA Balram Tanwar. BJP has renominated Braham Singh Tanwar, who was elected from Mehrauli constituency in the 1993 and 1998 elections, but lost it to Congress in 2003. BSP has named Kanwar Singh Tanwar.
The BJP candidate is confident of a comeback by cashing in on the "anti-incumbency wave. All claims of the MLA whether it is laying the foundation stone of a national level stadium or construction of a hospital are a bunch of lies. Last time he won the poll because of voters' sympathy. I had defeated him in the two earlier elections,'' Brahm Singh says.
He has the MCD election results to boost his morale. Three of the four sitting councillors here are from BJP, though all of them won by narrow margins of less than 1,000 votes each. Party insiders say Chhattarpur and Ghittorni have always been BJP strongholds and hence victory is sure this time.
Balram on the other hand says that he would win because of "anti-incumbency'' against the BJP. "All their councillors have done nothing and that is going to help me. I have my development work to show. If I won the last poll because of sympathy, I am sure I have gained more sympathy,'' the MLA claims.
The allegations and counter-allegations between Congress and BJP notwithstanding, BSP has high hopes on the seat. Kanwar Singh says people are fed up with both the parties. "They have done nothing significant in the last 10 years. Our villages have become playground of monkeys from all over Delhi because MCD releases all captured monkeys near Asola Bhati. The locality has become a waste dumping yard. People want relief and better life,'' he says.
Even poll analysts indicate BSP getting an edge over the two other outfits because of its loyal Dalit votes and the party's role in the Gujjar agitation. "Tanwar votes will be divided among all the three. Hence anyone getting good share of votes from SC and OBC would win the election. BSP seems to be working on these lines,'' said an expert

Sometimes all the political parties give tickets to Gujars from a particular place and as a result at few places due to division of votes, the candidate of another community wins the election. The person like BSP candidate from Chatarpur may take chance from other constituency also and may give fight due to his resources. The future of communities like Gujars in my opinion is in BSP. The permanent vote bank of Mayavati is transferable and if the same is added with that of Gujars in Nothern India, we may win good number of assembly and parliament seats. I pray to God Gujars will show this political maturity in the comming elections.

BSP can be a good place due to histrorical reasons too. 1. The Gujjars ( Written as Al-Jujaria in persian records) were the highest caste in India till 9th. century and the Gujjars who are uneducated ( I mean the Gujjars who have not read the fabricated history of India) are still feel the same. The Brahmins ( written as Brahama in persian records) came 2nd. to Gujjars and Khastriya ( written as Kataria in persin historical records). 2. During the salvery period of the country ( That is Mughal Period and British period) the Gujjars were suppressed whereas some other section of the society who were faithful to the new rulers became economically prosperous. So Gujjars may feel the pain of downtrodden also. These factors are strong in favour of BSP Gujjars candidates which claim to be fighting for Dalits.
BJP is Hindutva party and Gujjars have defeated the Arab Muslim Invaders for three hundred years. All hindus today are hindus because they were protected by Gujjars. The Gujjar Pratihar Emperors were Hindus but protectors of all the religions.
All the Hindu History after the fall of Gujjars is the History of Hindu slaves to foreign rulers who were given title of Rajas only during British period. During Mughal period they were called Mansabdars. If you have a glance of thecaste wise Hindu darbaris of Akbar you will not find even a single Gujjar or Jat. Surprisingly all the Hindu Darbaris of Akbar and and clan call themselves higher caste today. Also most of them were completely missing even the during the fight of Babar, leave aside th hundred of years of protection given to the country by Gujjars. These factors are strong in favour of BJP Gujjars candidates.
The Gujjars are Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs today. The Gujjars who were separated from the main stock during the attack of Huns during the 4th. century ( The Gujjars of Chechanya, Gerogia, Ajaria Spain etc.) are christian also.
Also the Gujjars were particularly targeted and uprooted during the period of slavery ( Mughal and British Period) of the country So the Gujjars, being a sufferer in the past, can really feel the pain that how bad it is to target and uproot the people on the base of their religion. Hence Gujjars candidates can be choice of all the religions.
These factors are strong in favour of Gujjars candidates fighting for congress which claims to be a secular party.
Moreover in Mehrauli all the three candidates fighting from main parties are Gujjars and that too Gujjar Tanwars.
In democracy it is a win win situation for all but in History the fighting for supremacy among various Gujjar clans ( The Gujjar Chauhans, Gujjar Chadilas, Gujjar Solankis, Gujjar Tanwars etc.) made them weak rulers and Gaznavi was able to bale to exploit there divide, otherwise Gaznavi was no match even to a single clan of Gujjars, leave aside the United Gujjars.

This is true that Gujjar Tanwars are the strongest clan in the area, They are the most powerful in south delhi and most of the luxury cars of south delhi can be seen in their areas.
Kanwar singh who has shown mere 150 crores as his total property has a net worth of around 2000 crores. Just like other politicians he has shown a part of his property to election commission. Every local Gujjar knows that he has already spent over 50 crores on his election campaign and if we take into account only his farm houses in Delhi, we get a staggering amount of 1000 crores
But you wont believe that the richest Gujjar of India late Chaudhry Daya Ram belonged to the Lohiya clan of Aaya Nagar village (which falls in the same area and which proved to be a the toughest area for police during Gujjar agitation).
The undivided property of this family (Ch Daya Ram known as CDR) is judged well over 50,000 Crores. Now his son Ch Ved Prakash (who owns the chain of Five stars in Australia and a few other countries owns 30,000 crores, making him the richest individual Gujjar in India.
Another gujjar in news, during Gujjar agitation is also from this area is MLA Sohna, Chaudhry Sukhbir singh from jaunapur village (Ambawata clan). He has shown a total assesses property of around 20,000 crores. While people claim he owns more than 50,000 crores if his property which is not assessed for tax (Black) is also included.
If we start counting Gujjars having 1000 crores then the list goes on and on.
Now My Gujjar brothers What I think is, If Gujjars have this much after 1000 years of massacre, suppression and discrimination of their comunity by Tughlak, Babar and britishers one after the other then Hadnt they been faced what they had to, what would have been their level of prosperity.
Other notable Gujjars with worth highest net worth
1. Paras group of comapnies 2. Chi Hari Singh , Village Gharbara 3. Prince Dilip Singh Judeo, Samthar 4. King Ranjeet Singh Judeo, Jashpur 5. Kartar Singh Bhadana
I would request to make a similar list from Pakistani Brothers, So that we can finally make out a combined list.
Thanks and Regards

Sukhvir jaunapuriya gurjar of Ambawata gotra www.hindustantimes.com/StoryPage/StoryPage.aspx?sectionName=&id=eb4a8416-0385-4e07-ba61-383caaf43beb&&Headline=MLA+buys+luxury+vehicle+for+Rs+2+cr+in+cashMLA buys luxury vehicle for Rs 2 cr in cash While the world is reeling under the economic meltdown, a Gurgaon-based realtor-turned-politician has bought his son a Hummer — the H2 — by paying Rs 2 crore in cash. “The Hummer H2 cost us about Rs 2 crore and we have paid the entire amount including customs and other duties,” claimed Sukhbir Singh Jonapuria, an Independent MLA from Sohna, who refused to divulge the exact amount or the source and channel of the purchase. His family’s fleet includes a Pajero, a Lexus, a Mercedes, a Tavera and a Skoda, to name a few. Sources said the luxury multi-utility vehicle was imported from Parkway, a dealer based in California’s Valencia. “Recently we celebrated my grandson’s birthday and my son Ashok Kumar (27), a director with S.S. Group, our real estate company, wanted to buy a Hummer. We placed the order six months ago and got it a week back. We paid the entire amount and did not seek a loan,” he added. When quizzed about the global meltdown, the MLA said his company had no market borrowings and so faced no financial burden. Cricketer Harbhajan Singh had dreamt of owning a Hummer H3 during the Twenty20 World Cup and actor Suniel Shetty had bought a Hummer H2 in 2005. Jonapuria is yet to apply for the Hummer’s registration. Gurgaon vehicle registration officials said the charge is about 1.5 per cent of the cost for vehicles which cost over Rs 10 lakh. Thus, charges for the Hummer will be Rs 3 lakh if the vehicle cost Rs 2 crore. Going by the potential of sales of luxury cars, a number of automobile companies such as BMW, Audi, Toyota, Skoda and others have set up showrooms in Gurgaon. Audi’s biggest showroom in the country is on Golf Course Road in Gurgaon. “We register 3-4 cars in the luxury segment, each costing Rs 25-80 lakh every month in Gurgaon. Ironically, 50 per cent of the buyers hail from villages while the rest have white-collar jobs,” a vehicle registration official said.

Both of them are spending lot of their resouses doing social works. Jaunpuria did a commendable job during the Gujjar agitation in Rajasthan where 46 of Gujjars were killed by the Rajasthan Police.
Kanwar Singh Tanwar is doing very good job in constituency even before entering politics. These kind of people are welcome in Politics who are spending their resources for public welfare.
I admire him more because he belong to a Gurjjar village where a complete battalion of British forces was captured by the Gurjjar Tanwars during the 1857 war of Independence. Later when this war was named as mutiny by Britishers this village was heavily punished and no male member of any Gurjjar family having age of more than 12 years of age was left alive.
Here is something more about him.
New Delhi, November 17 : With the Assembly elections in the Capital barely a few weeks away, contestants of the Bahujan Samaj Party have started devising new ways to reach out to voters. While many have chosen to walk or zip around in cars, Kanwar Singh Tanwar, general secretary of the party’s state unit and contestant from Chhattarpur, has been pedalling around in his constituency. While he claims the narrow lanes of the predominantly rural constituency called for such measures, supporters trail him in SUVs and luxury cars. Tanwar himself owns two Mercedes S-class sedans, a two-seater automatic transmission Mercedes, a BMW 73 and a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. “The cars cannot enter the narrow lanes and I interact with people better when I ride a cycle,” he says. With the fleet of cars following him wherever he goes, Tanwar meets people. “People here know I have worked for the area on every front. Most leaders have ignored development work,” Tanwar says.
Tanwar funds the Narayani Devi Trust, which runs two mobile dispensaries, supplies water to rural areas in tankers, and other charitable activities. “His wife and son, who are also active in social welfare, are eminent figures in the area,” says Lilu Gurjjar, a supporter from Sultanpur.
Tanwar has been travelling to villages like Sultanpur, Jonapur, Mandi, Ghitorni, Aayanagar, and Achola in his constituency since he filed his nomination last week. His associates had earlier followed him on two elephants, which is the symbol of the party.
The BSP leader had declared movable and immovable assets worth Rs 150 crore in the affidavit he presented to the returning officer in Mehrauli. Tanwar claims he pays his taxes and did not “fear anyone while declaring his wealth.” He is reportedly the richest contestant from Delhi. “I do not have anything to hide. I pay taxes close to Rs four crore every year and people of my locality know about my wealth.” “I joined politics only to work for them and my constituency,” the aspiring MLA said. Most of Tanwar’s disclosed wealth is in the form of agricultural and non-agricultural land which includes a farmhouse in his name and an apartment owned by his wife worth Rs 5.3 crore. He also owns a tractor, which is used in his fields in village Fatehpur Beri.
People from the villages in his constituency say Tanwar has earned a lot of goodwill with his social service. “The AC dispensaries on wheels to provide free...

This is the result of the fighting for Delhi Assembly Election. All the candidates were the direct descendents of the founder of Delhi, the Gujjar Tanwars.
Gujjar Tanwars founded Delhi as Dhillika in 736AD as the fuedatory kings of Gujjar Pratihars ( The Gujjar Pirthi Har means the Gujjars the lord of the whole Earth). Chattar Pur is an assembly adjacent to Meharuali, the capital of Gujjar Tanwars named Mihir+ awli after the name of Gujjar Pratihar Emperor Mihir Bhoja the Great.
Kanwar Singh Tanwar: This BSP candidate from Chhatarpur hogged the headlines for being the richest candidate in the Delhi assembly elections but finished the second runner up. While Tanwar got 25,492 votes, the seat went to Balram Tanwar of the Congress (32,406 votes). The BJP’s Brahm Singh Tanwar was number two with 27,376 votes.

Gujjar Chandila, ruled from the Kalinjar fort in present day UP were the another fuedatory of Gujjar Pratihar overlords. There status in the Gujjar Pratihars courts was equal to that of Gujjar Chauhans, Gujjar Solankis ( Chalukyas) and Gujjar Parmars of Dhara.
The family of Dayanand Chandila who won from Rajouri garden Delhi are the direct descendents of the these Imperial Gujjar Chandila.
All these clans went down fighting among themselves to achieve for supremacy over others after the fall of Gujjar Pratihar Emperors. The result was Gujjar Khatanas, Gujjar Bhatis, Gujjar Bhadanas who were rulers on the frontiers of present day Afghnaistan were left without support from the main land Kannauj and were defeated by Gaznavi.
Later at the time of a Turk slave Kutubdin Aibak the Muslim governer of Delhi the all these Gujjar kings were defeated in a similar fashion as many are being defeated today even by weakest cadidates that Aibak where many candidates from the clan start fighting for the same seat.
As a result a Gola ( slave) was seated on the throne of Ajmer, after the last Gujjar king Hari Raj the real brother of Gujjar king Prithvi Raj Chauhan, was defeated.( Reference : Muslim Historian Ferrista)
The Gujjar Chandilas were also defeated and ousted from the kalinjar fort by the same Turkic slave Kutubdin Aibak and Gujjar Chandilas satrted settling nearby places. There are more than 100 villages in around Delhi where Gujjar Chandilas ( Also called Chandelas) are found.
One Baba Gujjar Chandila. settled in Punjab and his descendents are called Gujral today. (for Ref: see the website of Gujjarwal village)
NEW DELHI: As counting moved at a feverish pitch with EVMs swinging candidates' fates back and forth in the race for space in the Delhi Assembly, emotions ran high. Rajouri Garden was a classic case which recorded a winning margin of just about 46 votes. This led to the victory of Congress candidate Dayanand Chandila who defected from BJP and joined the Congress barely two months before the elections. His closest contender was Avtar Singh Hit of Akali Dal.
After scraping through to victory, Chandila said that he was initially expecting to win by a margin of at least 30,000 votes. He blamed his poor margin on the Akali Dal, alleging that the latter had manipulated votes in the area. For his part, Hit a first time contestant maintained that he did quite well for a first-timer, that too after he fought on the Akali Dal symbol which has little recall value in Delhi.
