The tradition is When Savitri (Brhma's Spouse) reached Pushakar and found that Brmha had married a Gujar girl named Gayatri to perform the Yagya Ahutis, She cursed brmha to not to be worshipped anywhere in the world and Cursed Gujjars to never rest in peace. Later when Brmha told her the whole story, she realised her mistake and revoked(modified) the curse by saying that Brmha will be worshipped in pushkar only and Gujjars would attain moksha only after their ashes are flowed in Pushkar lake. Since that day Pushkar became the only place where Brmha is worshipped and it also became a holy place for Gujjars as well.

Similar stories are told about Lord Krishan that he was a Nagar Gujjar and Radha a Gujari. In the poems Krishna is called Giridahar Nagar ( The person who lifted the mountain and Nagar means Chatur or clever. Similarly Gujaria is used for Radha which means a tennager girl in poetry. There is no written records when about Gujjars and Brahma living together. Gujjars were from the abode of Lord Shiva and they were Shiva, Sun and Agni ( Fire worshipers). Moreover this temple was built, if the version of Col.Todd is to be belived, by a Gujjar Sardar from Maharashtra during the reign of Maratha Empire.

To keep the promise they had given to Rani jaimati (The woman behind the war), They donated their heads with their own hands to the woman. Afterwards all queens of bagaravats got sati (self-immolation) with the exception of Saadu maata Gurjari.
