Neelkanth, a temple town near Tehla builds by the Gurjar Partiharas. Neelkanth was mysteriously submerged under a deluge of sand and rocks centuries agond nobody around knows what made the town suffer such a fate. The Naldehwar shrine nearby attracts hordes of pilgrims and picnickers- the former to the natural shivaling formed within an old tree trunk in the higher reaches of the forest, the latter to the little brook and seasonal waterfall at the base of 364 steps you have to climb to reach the lingam. Sri Shambhu Dayal Chechi was elected its first President on 14 March 2004. To begin with, the Parishad launched social awareness campaign in and around Panchkula. In July 2004, in a meeting at Kalka, it was resolved that the Parishad should construct a building to run its activites properly. Sri Ajmer Singh Khetparali took over its next President on 20 March 2005 and efforts were made to get a site allotted for the Parishad in HUDA sectors in Panchkula. HUDA allotted site No. 1, Sector-10 Panchkula to the Parishad for construction of its building and temple. The members of the Parishad took tours to different parts of Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh for raising funds for the construction. Bhumi-Pujan at the site was performed by Swami Nityanand Ji Maharaj, Bhuriwale on 14 May 2006. Sri Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Chief Minister, Haryana laid the foundation stone of the ‘Gurjan Bhawan’ at the site on 4 January 2007. Swami Nitya Nandji Maharaj established the statues of Gods in the Dev Narayan temple on the Janmastami day in September 2008. The building of the Parishad named ‘Gurjar Bhawan’ was completed in less than two year’s time. The ‘Gurjar Bhawan’ was handed over to the community by Sri Masood Chaudhari, Vice Chancellor, B.G. Bhadshah University, Rajouri (J&K) on 14 October, 2008. An amount of Rs. 150 millions was spent on the construction of the Bhawan. The Gurjar Bhawan consists of 2 big air-conditioned halls, 10 air-conditioned rooms, one air-conditioned conference Hall and 3 big rooms. The photograph of the Bhawan is given on this Website. The activities of the Parishad include organizing of medical camps, social awareness campaign for eradication of social evils, blood donation camps, promotion of education, women empowerment campaign and community development.
