Well last name Singh itself is a honorable Title in Gurjar community just like as Verma , Rana, and in modern world Chowdhary etc. and yes this is my last name and from hundreds of years my family is using this title as a last name I don't think it is right to change it just because everybody started using it after all it is our heritage. well my family line is Babre which interestingly means Tiger in Iranian as Singh means Lion in Sanskrit so almost similar In Western UP, Haryana and Rajasthan, "Pal, means Palak, the Protector or King" and “Singh means The Lion” are commonly used as part of the name by Gujjars and Jats and are never used as a surname. Similarly in my name also “Singh” is not a surname but part of my name. My Gujjar gotra is Nagara, who were the rulers of Nangarhar ( present day Jalalabad in Afghanistan_ , Nagda as capital city and Vagad Pradesh in Lat region) and Nagarkot (present day Kangra in Himachal Pradesh in India).
