Film "ZILLA GAZIABAD" CAsting - vivek oberoi , sanjay dutt , Arshad warsi , Minisha Lamba , Arya Babbar , Ravi kishan ... Vinod Bachchan (Tanu Weds Manu) produces a dramatic thriller with director-newcomer Anand Kumar about the mafia in Ghaziabad and about northern gang wars in the ’80s and ’90. Sources reveal that this film “deals with politics and mafia as prevalent in Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh). Though there have been quite a films set in mafia of Mumbai and some have even explored the underbelly of Delhi, not many films have stepped in this part of the country. Zila Ghaziabad would be reflecting the current socio-political situation there.” All main characters are based on real-life characters. Arshad Warsi’s role (“an absolute mean character”) is modelled on the outlaw Mahender Fauji. Vivek Oberoi plays another outlaw, Satbir Gujjar; he even intends to visit one of Satbir’s companions who is serving a term in jail to get to know more about this man. Sanjay Dutt will play a real-life character too: Thakur Pritam Singh, a zamindar-turned-cop known as the badshah of Bulandshahr who was notorious for his unorthodox way of dealing with criminals. The producer explains, “The film is based on Thakur Pritam Singh but the story has been modified suitably to make it interesting for the 70mm. I too am from UP and belong to the Etah District of the state and for us, Thakur sa’ab was a hero. He was a man of courage and he had his inimitable style, which is still emulated by people of the area. When writer Vinay Sharma approached me with the script, I was prompted to make this film.” Arshad Warsi is looking forward to his baddie role in this film which is said to have a rustic setting and to get into the underbelly of politics, mafia and cops.. “It is the kind of film which is more in a ‘Raajneeti‘ and ‘Omkara‘ mode. Part of the film’s shooting would be held in Delhi and Ghaziabad. For the rest we would be shooting in Wai where we would recreate the ambiance of Ghaizabad. We begin shooting this July,” he said. In addition to Sanju, Arshad and Vivek, Zila Ghaziabad will star Minissha Lamba, Aarya Babbar and Ravi Kishan. Vivek Oberoi is all set to play a gangster yet again. This time in his forthcoming film Zilla Ghaziabad. This won’t be the first time the actor will be portraying such a character. In his debut film Comapny, Vivek essayed the role of Chhota Rajan. This was followed by his role as gangster Maya Dolas in Shootout At Lokhandwala. Both films were critically acclaimed. In Zilla Ghaziabad, Vivek plays the role of gangster Satbir Gujjar. This requires Vivek to grow a stubble, chop his hair short and learn the distinct UP dialect. And now, he will also visit Satbir Gujjar’s friend in Tihar jail. A source informed, “Since the very beginning of his career, Vivek has gone out of his way to understand the character he has to essay. He spent time in slums to understand Chandu in Company. He did a lot of research and met cops for his role as Maya in Shootout. However, the actor was stunned when one of the production unit members got a call from a prisoner in Tihar jail, demanding to meet Vivek. The caller felt that Vivek was the right choice to play Satbir and wished to provide more information on the gangster. He went on to say that he will try getting out of jail on parole and meet Vivek. On hearing this, Vivek decided to visit Tihar jail some time next month and meet that person.” When contacted Vivek Oberoi said, “I am intrigued to meet someone who knows Satbir closely and believes in me. Hello gujjar brothers,
It is very please to see that a filom is going to make on Gujjars. Now its our duty make it succefull not only on box office but in the shape that media tell the film world that Gujjar community have taken too much interset in film because vof a Gujjar Persoallity believe it will push the film makers to make much more films on Gujjars because a fiancer only wants profit than it dies not matter it is coming from a Gujjar film as it was in Pakistan when Permit film was made . it was a hit and its songs were also hit because of the interest of Gujjarsnly Gujjar became the trade mark of succesful films because of the interest to see the Gujjar films by the Gujjars in start than Pakisrtani film makers strated to made the gujjars the Gujjar films and suddenly it became the hit trade mak of film makers and afterwards every body like to watch Guujjar films because of the real Gujjar brave charaters. Now you have to publcity this taht every Gujjar have to watch this film even he is fond of films or not. Once media will tell that Gujjars are fond of their real characters believe me if you are one day hit in Gujjar areas than you will be forever hit.
You even don't what it will do in Pakistan because indian films are like food in Pakistan. In past indian film Mela have made us proud. Well come on a way to be famouse forever.

Mahender fauji family i would like to through some light on the film ZILLA GHAZIABAD being made by anand kumar and vinod bachchan as the script of the film says it is based on true story let me make it clear these people have never consulted our family to know the real story then how these people living in bombay may know the true story....if these people realy want to make this film on real story the we the member of fauji family heartly invite the director of the film to come to ghaziabad and consult to the people who know him

Satbir Gurjar and Mahender Fauzi both were Gurjars and belonged to nearby villages in Distt Ghaziabad and were used by the political leaders of that time like Mahendra Singh Bhati ex MLA Dadri and DP Yadav.
Pritam Singh was the Thakur Daroga who brought the gangwar to an end.
गाजियाबाद। लोनी के मेवला भट्टी गांव निवासी महेंद्र फौजी व सतवीर गुर्जर पर बन रही फिल्म जिला गाजियाबाद का विरोध शुरू हो गया है। करीब आधा दर्जन गांवों के लोगों की एक पंचायत गुरूवार को सिरौली गांव में हुई।
पंचायत में जिला गाजियाबाद फिल्म बनाए जाने पर कड़ी आपत्ति जताई गई और आम सहमति से फिल्म के प्रदर्शन पर विरोध जताने व हाईकोर्ट का दरवाजा खटखटाने का निर्णय लिया गया। खबरों के अनुसार निर्देशक आनंद एलराय जिला गाजियाबाद नाम से मेवला भट्टी गांव निवासी अंतर्राज्यीय बदमाश महेंद्र फौजी व सतवीर गुर्जर पर फिल्म बना रहे है। इस फिल्म की करीब 90 प्रतिशत शूटिंग गाजियाबाद व अन्य स्थानों पर पूरी हो चुकी है। महेंद्र फौजी का किरदार निभा रहे अरशद वारसी का नाम प्रकाश फौजी सतवीर गुर्जर का किरदार निभा रहे विवेक ओबराय का नाम धर्मवीर गुर्जर रखा गया है। जबकि प्रीतम सिंह दरोगा का किरदार संजय दत्त निभा रहे है।
पंचायत में फिल्म में गुर्जर शब्द का इस्तेमाल करने पर कड़ी आपत्ति जताई गई। लोगों का आरोप था कि गुर्जर शब्द का इस्तेमाल कर गुर्जर जाति का अपमान किया जा रहा है। जिसे कतई बर्दाश्त नही किया जाएगा। पंचायत में निर्णय लिया गया कि यदि गुर्जर शब्द के अलावा आपत्तिजनक दृश्यों को नही हटाया गया तो हाईकोर्ट का दरवाजा खटखटाया जाएगा।

Hello Gujjar Brothers,
I was in a happy mood and was in a discussion about the Gujjar community with Mazhar Gujjar. Certainly, he told me about the film Zila Ghaziabad is in contraversy among Gujjars. He also told me that Gujjars only want not to be used Gujjar word in the film, because Satveer Gujjar was a criminal and it will spoil our image more because other communities always propagate us as criminals. It was a great set back for us because Gujjars still not differentiate the society and media's image.
Is it a punishment for Gujjars specially for Pakistan's Punjabi Gujjars to watch Thakur's in Indian hindi movies and TV serials as not only as big people also as a dacoits. No Thakur is ashamed of Thakur man Singh a dacoit of chambal. In Indian Punjabi movies and songs postion is not just like Thakurs, a long long away head than Thakurs,they are too proud of jagga sikh and they always tries to proove every popular personality as Jat even in a negative way and claim every sikh as Jat.It is not clear Jagga sikh was a Jat but they have made. Famouse Jagga Gujjar was a muslim from Lahore and Jagga Tax was named after his name. After his appearnce Gujjars are still enjoying the Lion's face on them and they are considered undefeatable character. After his life he is still well known because of Gujjar films. O n tradition basis badmash and dacoits are always concidered as community pride alike other communities do. Same as Gujjars of chambal where Mohar Singh Gujjar is as hero becaue of their reaction to injustice.
Remember, bad name is better than no name. If you will tries to stop or agitate it than who will dare think about you to make films. Its just a film. Is it not strange, In a big country's big film industry no even think about you and if some one specially a non Gujjar than we are protesting. In films it happens, not a big issue but very good fopr us where Gujjars in much good position. Mostly Gujjars think in Amir Khan's film Mela Gujjar character was negative but even the poor Gujjars of NWFP feels proud when other communities surprisely saw the Gujjar terror in films. It is very good for us to improove amd built their social status of bravery.
socialy. many communities are so rich but those communities who have the image of bravery are always seem as a proud communities than it does not matter whether it is in a positive or in a negative way. Please take film as a film not as a battle.
remember that time when Mazhar Gujjar asked about the Gujjar films than everybody was against but later every one was agreed with him. Now postion is just same like Pakistan, where Gujjars write Gujjar with their name after these films but educated Gujjars always tries to ban Gujjar films by inspuirin the propaganda of other communities but the other communities were jealose of Gujjars but why educated Gujjars were, still a mystery becuse other communities are still making their films on the name of their communities even peaceful Arain community makes film to improove their bravery status but Gujjars are always with these kind of remarks that it is spoiling our image but why these kind of film not spoil yhe image of jats and Thakurs?
