My name is Ch.Tariq Gujjar mostly known as Gujjar Badshah. My family migrated from Kangra now Himachal Pradesh. Cricketer Azaharudin is from motjer's relatives whom are settled in Village Rabe, narowal. Punjab, pakistan. His relative Ch.Wali Muhammad Ex-Member of District Council Narowal is very famouse in that area who is also khepar and he is one of the close relatives of former Indian Captain cricketer Azaharudin. My father-in-law Counciler Ch.Roshan Din transporter was a fmouse personality of Pasrur, Sialkot. These two dictricts Narowal and Sialkot Gujjar community have very much influence in the area. I live in Lahore and an employee in Income Tax department. My sub caste is Gorsi. As I heard from my elders that traditionally that Gorsi are also of two kinds one just Gorsi the other is Biskol or Viskol Gorsi because there is a saying among Gorsi that snake and Gorsi are from same varn and snake never bites to Gorsis. Our daughter-in-laws never show their face to a snake as Gujjar daughter-in-laws hide their faces front father-in-laws. In moon night (pooran mashi) Gorsi girls host the snakes by feeding them milk in pots on the snake living residential holes but they not hide themselves because they them as their family members like father, brother, sons. There is also a strong tradition about the Gorsi is that when Karishana's father move him from jail in a stormy and rainy night a big Nag (snake) who covers him in and save from rain, that snake was related to that Gorsi's snakes. They are taken as brother of Gorsi that is why they believe that a snake can never bite them because of their blood relation.Actually Gujjars were carrying own their old traditions before partition even they call themselves Khatrya and claim Ram Chadra, Lakshman, karishna as their forefathers specially same sub caste was treated as real brothers but every thing is changed now because Gujjars were divided in different areas with poorness and low education. There was also a problem to achieve their properties , lands and animals. They stated from zero but amazingly they make name from nil. Before partition Gujjars were called Rath means wehshi and now Gujjars are also famous as Gujjar Badshah. Attachments:

Interesting Information,
We have the same tradition about Gorsi clan here in India. Gorsi is one of the five original clans which derived from the word Gurjar only. Gorsi is a mere corruption of the word Gorjer or Gorser. Other clans are: 1. Kusana (Derived from Kusan < Kusar < Gusar <Gujar), 2. Khutana (Derived from Kusana), 3. Chechi (Derived from Yechi<Yuchi<Kyuchi<kuchi<kusar<Gujar), and 4. Bargat (origin Unknown but it originated somewhere in Mid-Asia region, most probably in Georgia).
There was a saying famous in Pakistan in ancient times "Dhai gharan gujjarn ke, kasana, gorsi te adha barkat"
(Barkat being from a non-gujjar mother was assigned half Gujjar status).
English Translation: Gujjars have two and half houses One is Kasana, One Gorsi and half Barkat.
All other Gujjar clans are either offshoots or direct descendants of these Major clans.
Regards

Mr. Ashok Harsana, There is also a strong tradition about the Gorsi is that when Karishna's father move him from jail in a stormy and rainy night a big Nag (snake) who covers him in and save from rain, that snake was related to that Gorsi's snakes. They are taken as brother of Gorsi that is why they believe that a snake can never bite them because of their blood relation. Its wrong that bargat was considered as half Gujjars because of their non Gujjar mother. It was very strict among Gujjars that a non Gujjar woman's son never can be cosidered as Gujjar . There is a famouse saying who have nver sucks Gujri's milk how can be a Gujjar? means " Jis nay Gujri ka doodh na piya ho aur jis ki maa Gujjar na ho woh Gujjar kisay ho sakta". Purity of blood was compulsory among Gujjars in old times. Bargat was cosidered half only because of their less power from other Gujjar tribes.

Sarfaraz Muhammad Bargat(Gujjar) Advocate. (Brave son of a brave father). Former Chairman Gujjar Students Forum. Mobile No: 0333-4543971. He served a lot in Gujjar Youth Forum for Gujjar community. He also organised a rally of the Gujjars or Gowalmandi againt Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif who killed the innocent Gujjars siding to his Kashmiri community in an Police encounter. Many Gujjars were arrested who were afterwards released because of his efforts. Once he wrote a letter lonely to Ferozsons Publications to change the meaning of Gujjar word as Gwala in their Ferozulghat urdu dictionary. The historical letter is on the board read it and give your suggestions. Meaning is now Gujjar as a Zamindar Qom in new editions of Ferozulghat Urdu Dictionaries. After migration from Ludhiana his father Ch.Ali Muhammad a bakrwal Gujjar settled in Jaranwala who loves so much to his Gujjar community and very well knows about Gujjars history and the Gujjars. Bargat was cosidered half only because of their less power from other Gujjar tribes. Yes this might also be the reason.

Once Ch. sarfraz Muhammad Bargat (Former Chairman Gujjar students Forum) wrote a letter lonely to Ferozsons Publications to change the meaning of Gujjar word as Gwala. Ferozson's is big name in Lahore in book publications. This historical letter is here to read it. Due to his Gujjar meaning is now changed as a Zamindar Qom in new editions of Ferozulghat Dictionaries. Ch. ashraf Gujjar Advocate also once made an effort. They both were succesful. Below Four pages are now considered as his historical effort. In this letter he describes other castes realities through their old social structure and historical proofs. This letter is afterwards was printed in Nawa-e-Gujjar magazine of Gujjar Youth Forum, Pakistan. I am now pasting the pages like Dr. allah Rakha Sindhi a non Gujjar historian and friend of Gujjars because there is no option in the site to enclose the pages in an answer. Here is the main introduction page of the digest for reference. Attachments:
