No proof for Dinsha Patel....? I doubt being there any proof even for Dilip Singh Joodev .....and so called Muslim Gurjars of Western UP....In such a communally charged atmosphere of western UP, IS THERE ANY REALLY MUSLIM GOOJAR BACKED BY OTHERS... Pl provide their background of calling themselves Gurjars FIRST ... But Himmat Patel belongs to Karoli district of Rajasthan and his father Sh Prahlad Singh moved to Ahamdabaad just few decades ago and settled there. Is Mr. AP Singh listening .....this is the best example of the caste /surname mobility ...when within few decades a common GURJAR of Rajasthan becomes Patel of Gujrat and generates a new identity(nothing wrong in it , this is how new caste / surnames have evolved in India) See my above comments in light of my submissions on relation between Rajputs & Gurjars (Village of Panna Dhai)...! Vote for Kanwar Singh Tanwar

Dear Shri Satyendraji,
I don’t understand why you are pulling my name in this discussion. However I would like to clear a common misunderstanding of people having between a Gotra and a title. The Patel and Chaudhary are titles and not surnames based on Gotra and anybody irrespective of their ancestry based on Gotras can enjoy these titles.
Patels was a title almost equivalent to a Patwari of today’s administration to keep records of Pattas (fields for farming) . Chaudhary was a title of Mughal administration having authority on 14 villages ( 14 is Chaudaha of hindi and thus named as Chaudhary) to collect taxes on behalf of Mughals.
In case of Sardar Patel, Sardar was a Leva Patel where Patel was a title of his family and Leva is a sub- branch (Khap) of Gujjars based on his community as mentioned in “ The Indomitabe Sardar” written by KL Punjabi of Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan.
Patels and Chaudharies, generally used to be from the majority community of the village or of the group of villages to avoid any direct interference of Mughal administration in the concerned villages
Regards.

Friends satendra ji and aps ji
I agree to what aps is saying that the titles of chaudhary Patil , Patel, Rao etc are only ceremonial titles. these surname do not identify any caste.
The word chaudhary is used by people of Haryana , UP as well as the eastern state of West Bengal. I have seen a number of SC people using the word Chaudhary ( Punjab and UP).
The word Patel is used by Gujaratis, Some places in Rajasthan, MP as well as even in central and eastern UP areas . So these are titles of respect and nothing else.
Now some things I want to correct
1. The photograph pasted above by ashok is not of Virendra Singh. the SP candidate from Muzaffarnagar, rather it is of a Jat virendra verma who was also a politician from shamli area.
2. for satendra - there are some pockets of Muslim Gurjars in west UP in areas along the Khadar regions of Yamuna where Muslim Gurjars are concentrated along with Hindu Gurjars. The two candidates in Kairana of SP and BSP and Chacha and Bhatija and this Muslim Gurjar family has been politically important in that area for the last 20 -30 years. Although if you consider the ratio than in Kairana area among the Gurjars 90% are Hindus and only 10 % Muslim. These Muslim were converted around 300 years ago but they still maintain the strong Gotra / Clan identity just like Hindus. The Hindu Gurjar have generated large number of powerful politicians, MLA , Ministers etc from that area , even deputy CM of UP.
3. As regards the BJP leader Dilip Singh Judev , He was a rajput from Chattisgarh and Ashok ji please make the necessary corrections.

Congratulation to Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar 'Bainsla' , M.P. from FARIDABAD (HARYANA) for becoming MINISTER in the CENTRAL GOVT.
Shri Krishan Pal has been MLA from Tigaon seat in Haryana and is ex Transport Minister of Haryana state. He was also the BJP state President of Haryana. He belons to village Mewla Maharajpur on National Highway about 6 km from Delhi Border village Badarpur. He has become fist time MP by defeating another GURJAR strongman Shri Avtar Singh Bhadana (Congress). Avtar Singh Bhadana is a three time MP from Faridabad and one time MP from Meerut(U.P.).Shri Krishan Pal won this time with the backing of huge GURJAR support from Faridbad.
As far as I know he is the first GURJAR minister in the Central Govt from outside the Congress. Earlier Shri Rajesh Pilot and his son Sachin Pilot have been the central Govt Ministers. This will boost the Gurjar Politics and many more GURJAR will try to become MP , MLA and ministers.
Moreover out of the 6 GURJAR MP in the Parliament nearly 4 GURJAR BJP MP are from NCR Delhi
1. South Delhi - Ramesh Bidhuri - vill Tughlakabad , Delhi 2. Tonk - Sawai Madhopur (Rajasthan) - Sukhbir Singh Jaunapuria - vill Jaunapur, Delhi, gotra - Ambawata 3. Amroha - (UP)- Kanwar Singh Tanwar - Vill Fatehpur , Delhi
and the fourth is Shri Krishan Pal Bainsla himself.
Out of the other two, Shri Hukum Singh Chauhan who is now MP from western UP seat of Kairana. Shri Hukum Singh Chauhan is the most respected BJP Gurjar leader from west UP. He is a former Captain in the Indian ARMY.He was also selected for PCS(J) exams. He first time became MLA in 1974 and was still MLA from Kairana in UP.Now more than 76 years old. He is lovingly called Babu Hukum Singh. May be because of age factor he could not become a minister in the MODI Cabinet.
Gujar community has heavy population in North Maharastra region brodering GUJARAT and MP in areas like Shahada, Nandurbar,Erandol, Jalgaon, Raver, Bhusaval. and from raver this time we have a GURJAR MP also as Raksha Khadse.
Congrats to the Minister and all the MP once again.

AS far as the regional and caste statistics are concerned the break up of 45 ministers of MODI CABINET is mentioned below.
States well-represented
This council has eight ministers from Uttar Pradesh, five each from Maharashtra and Bihar, four from Karnataka, three each from Gujarat and MP, two from Haryana and one each from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Odisha, Delhi, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Jammu & Kashmir and Jharkhand.
The Prime Minister has made sure that there is parity not just in terms of regional representation but also with regard to gender and community.
Najma Heptullah, the lone Muslim face, is among the seven women ministers. Sushma Swaraj, Smriti Irani, Uma Bharti, Maneka Gandhi and Harsimrat Kaur Badal all have Cabinet rank while Nirmala Sitharaman is MoS (Independent Charge) .
Among the 45 ministers , 23 are upper castes including seven Brahmins, one Bhumihar, five Rajputs, two Banias, two Khatris, and one Kayastha, Kamma, Raju, Maratha, Lingayat, and Jat Sikh each.
There are three Dalits, six adivasis and one Muslim. The remaining 12 are OBCs — a Jat, Gujjar, Yadav, Kurmi, Kushwaha, Lodh, Kunbi, Dhangar, Bhandari, Vokkaliga, Nadar and a Khandayat.
