Nagar Sahab you are right only four Gurjar have won in this election. This is a decrease of 3 seats as earlier there were 7 Gurjar MLA from haryana. But it happens as BJP had given tickets to only four Gurjars and two of them won. From many Gurjar seats in Northern Haryana, BJP gave tickets to other castes.
In this election the entire Gurjars candidates fighting from Northern Haryana were routed except Shri Kanwar Pal from Jagadhri. He is a senior Gurjar leader of BJP and may be made a minister in the new Govt. Similar was the case from central Haryana seats of safidon (Jind) and samalkha (panipat) and kaithal. this happened because two / three Gurjar were fighting from the same seat and the independents won. Surjewala (Jat) won from kaithal because of the extensive development work carried by him. Safidon and Samalkha seats are having high Gurjar populations and the Gurjar villages are prosperous and these are in the canal irrigated tracts of the old Karnal district.
Similar is the case of Nangal Chaudhary , the constituency in Southern most part of haryana having Rajasthan from three sides and here too four - five Gujars were fighting and the seat was won by a Yadav.
By and large only the NCR Gurjars were able to maintain and show there presence in Haryana politics and won the no of seats they had previously. Lalit Nagar won from Tigaon only and only because the entire Nagar clan brotherhood in the Tigaon area voted in his favour along with the other Gurjar gotra villages. There are 84 clan villages of Nagar gotra in Tigaon.( It is known as chaurasi pal ).
Similarly Nagendra Bhadana of INLD won from faridabad NIT due to the en bloc voting of Bhadana clan gurjars villages (Bhadanpuri) which are located at the foothills of Aravalii mountains and many are also situated on the mountains. The Avtar Singh Bhadana effect might have also been there as he is now national Vice president of INLD.
In Sohna it is good that a grass root worker who has worked for more than 30 years with BJP was given the ticket and he won. The Sohna constituency is entirely rural seat and has one of the highest concentrations of Gurjar in Haryana.
I am doing the caste wise analysis of the candidates and will write about it.
