The historians need to explain the presence of a place called "Gujjara" during Ashoka period somewhere close to the present day Gwaliar or eastern Rajasthan / western MP.
2. Further why Khatana relate themselves to "Mor" and consider "Mor" a sacred bird as "Totem" or "Taboo"....??

As per the Budhhist records Samrat Ashok was of same clan to which Gautama Buddha belonged. Gautama Buddha is called Sakya muni and most probably he belonged to Shaka tribe, if Shakya is not taken from the Saka region ( Saka-Desa or Sakasthan).
I believe he was a Saka as Gautam Buddha married his cousin sister, a custom which was prevalent among Sakas.
The Gurjjars moved to Chinese Turkestan as Yavanas (Greeks) and Sakas became allies.
It is foolish to believe that Mauryas were called so because peacocks used to dance in their courtyards.
Most likely Maurya is derived from Mer or Med, the tribe alexander encountered in central asia.
Alexender the great was not so great as he deceived the Meelu Gurjjars. Initially he asked a free passage from Meelu Gurjjars ( the descendents of Laxmana) but later killed innocent farmers working in the fields. As a result alexander got the taste of his life by getting seriously wounded and later succumbed to his wounds but Gurjjar Meelus were defeated. They did not submit and moved to Chinese Turkestan.
