Tongar is an offshoot of Tonk, tank Gotra Dear Askhok Ji, After getting this response, I have done some google search about Tonk & Tank gotra, and what I found is totally surprising for me... Tonk & Tank gotra's belong to Jat.... Now myself being miserable... if I'm a Jat or gurjar....  Could some one help on this pls.... Rgds |

Mr. tonger u r not belong to tank , tonk clain, the tonger gurjat belongs to tuar/tomar/tavar clain of yaduvansh.
the tank or tonk clain originated from naag king takshak.

This is Vikram Panwar here, i am a student at Tata Institute Of Social Sciences. I am pursuing masters in HRM&LR and already placed with ITC. I come from Dausa district in Rajasthan. There are few villages of Harshanas near Sikandra(an epicenter of Gujjar agitation) in Dausa. Though i dont know the exact number as this area is more famous for Kasana and Chechi Gurjars.

Mr. tonger u r not belong to tank , tonk clain, the tonger gurjat belongs to tuar/tomar/tavar clain of yaduvansh. the tank or tonk clain originated from naag king takshak. Later this Taka desa were donated to the famous poet Kalidas by Sri Harsha alias Shri Vikarmaditya the Great ( Vikarmaditya-III)sometime arount 340 AD. The Gujjar Emperor Sri Harsha the Great should not be confused with Harshvardana, the petty ruler of Kannauj, whose ancestors were in service of Gujjar Emperor Sri Harsha). The present day Taga caste ( started writing as Tyagi, to escape the British brutalities, post 1857, when both the Gujjars and Tagas were declared as the Criminal tribes) are the descendents of the Great poet Kalidasa and are the top class Brahmins, who stopped taking donations after they were permanently donated the Takka Desa by the Gujjar Emperors. This Takka Desa was smaller states around Lahore which was annexed by Kallar ( of Kalar alis Karal caste) Shankarvarman, after the Kanul was lost by Gujjar to Arbas temporarily in 870AD. The father of Shankarvarman, Avantivarman was appointed as ministerin Kasmir by the Gujjar Samrat Mihir Bhoja the Great after the exterminating the Karkota dynasty permanently from the scene of Kashmir. Gujjar Tanwars were also the rulers of Tomara regionwhich was located around Kashmir, Kachar and Goda Desa. The Gujjar Tomars later founded Delhi in 736 AD ubder the Gujjar Emperor Nagabhatta-I the Great. They are the descendents of Gujjar SamratTorman of Gorsi Gotra. The capital Mehruali was named after the Gujjar Gorsi Mihir Kula as Mihir-awali or Mehrauli who was the son of Samrat Toraman nad one of their great ancestor. The fight between Yashodhrman and Mihirkul was an internal fight between two Gujjar groups one was ruling from Balkha and the other Gujjar group was ruling from Gor region, located in present day Afghanistan and called Gor-Shahi or Gorsi or the rulers of GorTakka Desa, during the rule of Gujjar Kasana Emperor Gurjara Shri Vikramaditya in 57 BC ( Kujula Kara Kadphasis of Greeks) were included among the regions given to the descendents of Bharat, the younger brother of lord Rama. The part of Gujjar Solanki, Gujjar Tank and Gujjar Chawra rulers were transferred to present day Gujarat, Malwa (Ujjain) and Bhinmal in India. |

Today is the birth day of Mr. Salumbra as displayed on this website. I wish my best compliments for a happy birth day to Mr. Salumbra.
Few years back I was asked by Chaudhry Mohammad Younas about the Salumbra Gotra of Gujjars.
Two Gujjar warriors fought Babar at Khanwa. One was Udai Singh Nagar, the ruler of Udaipur who advanced to Khanwa with 12000 of his cavaliers to take battle. The Other Gujjar warrior was Ratan Singh Salambar, the ruler of Salumber and took the battle with 4000 of his cavaliers and sacrificed his life.
Later both these Gujjar kingdoms were won by the Muslim ruler of Gujarat. The son of Rana Sanga Vikramjit by that time was already employed in the services of Babar and thus Humayun advanced up to Gwalior to save the kingdom of his Vassal, the ruler of Chittor, on the request of Rani Karnavati, the wife of late Rana Sanga and mother of Vikramjit, the ruler of Chittor. On the news the advancement of Humayun, the ruler of Gujarat retreated to his own capital and thus Chittor was saved. However, both the Gujjar kingdoms were lost that time and later by Akbar the Gujjar kingdom of Udaipur was given to the Jamindar of Dungarpur, at the offer of his daughter to Akbar.
The Gujjars of salumbra gotra are the former rulers of Salumber.
