Hi Ravin Brother, Welcome to our forum, The history and origin of these gotras has been discussed in past in details. You could read that, But for the sake of explaining it here again, I will give a brief account: 1. Harsana: King harsh was the ancestor of this gotra, he was also famous as Raja harsu and was ruliing under pratihars in 8-9th centruy (somewhere near Jaisalmer). There are a few places named after this gotra, Harsana Khurd (Tonk Rajasthan), harsana kala (sonipat, haryana), Harsu gadhi (gurgaon, Haryana) etc. 2. Kasana: Kasana is corrupt form of Kusana (The famous Kushan Kings who ruled Indian subcontinent and mid asian countries during 1st century BC to 3rd century AD). 3. Tanwar: India was attacked by Hepthalites (todays known as hepthalis or abdalis or Durrani) during the Gupta period. Hepthalites were then called white Huns. But They were not Huns, They were actually attacked by Gok Turks (The actual huns) and were forced to invade india in order to save their lives. India was attacked by them first under 454 AD under Chu-haan (who was a famous Rouran-Hepthal Commander (His name was Chu, haan or han or khan was a title used by famous fighters). He was repelled back by Samudra Gupta and his army was assimilated into indian population of Gujjars (because they were Gujjars originally and were the part of Yuchee confederation like Kushans, in fact a few historions confused chhu as Kushan king) A new subclan Chuhane was formed here and there first renowned leader was Vasudev son of Chhu, and was called the first Chauhan. We still find people with the surname chukhan and chuhan in China and mongolia apart from india and pak. There is a subsidiary river named Chukhan in Pakistan to support my claim Later in around 467 AD due to the pressure of Huns over the hethals, they again had to enter India under Tour-Han. This time they successfully poured into india and ended the Gupta age . The successors of Tourhan or Tour-haan were called Turs, Tuars, Tomars, Tanwars. We can get into more details if someone need 100% authentic records regarding the origin of Chauhans and Tanwars. ref: www.chinahistoryforum.com/index.php?showtopic=3248(see 454 AD) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yujiul%C3%BC_Tuhezhenen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kushan_Empirewww.cssforum.com.pk/css-compulsory-subjects/pakistan-affairs/13309-rivers-pakistan.html (Kundar River) Regards Ashok Harsana

Hi Ravin, Many villages are there with harsana gotra The origin (likad) of our gotra is from village Kali dangi near Jaisalmer. During Moghal rule when every other caste was offering DOLA to Moghals, they preferred to leave their motherland + all property and migrated towards south and east >>> Jaisalmer>Jaipur>Bharatpur>Mathura>Dadri>NOIDA>Faridabad>Gurgaon Jaisalmer>Jaipur>Gwalior Their current settlements are as follows; Khodeka near palwal and one more village in Mathura In Bharatpur there are more than 15 villages (wife of celebrated DCP Bhairo singh Gurjar is also Harsana) They are also found in Jaisalmer and Jaipur 5-6 villagges near Gadh Ganga around 12 villages in Gwalior (the Chief of Madhya Pradesh Gurjar mahasabha is Virender Harsana) The victoria cross winner kamal Ram was also a harsana. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamal_RamMore info en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HarsanaI am still researching on thier settlements
