Abdul Rashid Khan had been Chairman of Block Samiti, Chhachhrauli for more than twenty five years; Father, Chaudhri Mohammed Aslam Khan was elected to Haryana Legislative Assembly from Chhachhrauli Constituency twice in 1987 and 1991 (in 1987 when Congress won only five seats in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha), remained Chairman, Haryana State Small Industries & Export Corporation Ltd. In 1991-1994 and Chairman Housing Board, Haryana in 1994-1998. He himself contested as Independent candidate from Chhachhrauli Constituency in 1996 and declared elected and as BSP candidate from Jagadhri Constituency in 2009 and declared elected.
