Hi Ashok, I have gone through the Babarnama translated Yugjeet NawalPuri, Published by Sahitya Academy New Delhi. I have not a found the word Rajput anywhere instead the word Hindu nad Bairi (enemy) is used. So now it is the fact that the word rajput first time used by the historians of akbar unify and to give some respect for the people who accepted the job offeres from him as Military labourers. Most of them were Vassals and/or illegal sons ( not born out of legal Wedlock) of their previous Gujjar overlords.

Hi Ashok, Atleast 30 out of 36 royal clans are mentined in the Indian History are Gujjar Gotras only. Dhama is one Gujjar gotra other than Gujjar Pratihar, Gujjar Chauhans, Gujjar Solankis, Gujjar parmars, Gujar Chawras, Gujjar Guhilots which was included in the 36 royal races of India during the rule of Chauhans though it is not listed in the KumarPal Sanhita. Kumar Pal was the king Gujjar Solanki dynasty of Gujarat Patan. The wife of Prithviraj Chauhan was of Dhama gotra of Gujjars. The elder brother of his wife was Kadambwas (Kaimas), was also the prime minister and another brother Khande rao Dhama was the Great fighter and the hero of the first battle with Ghori and was the supreme General in the army of Chauhan. Khande rao was the one who almost killed Ghori in the first battle in 1991 and Ghori was taken away half dead from the battle field. The Youngest brother of Kaimas and Khande Rao was Pundir and there is a separate gotra of Pundirs after his name still found today in Saharan Pur District of UP and presently Gujjars as well as Rajputs and they are settled allogwith the 84 villages of Gujjar Chauhans. The bard Chund mentioned that Ghori was defeated 17 times. That is partly true since 8 times he was given free passage to attack the Gujjar king of Patan and Ghori was defeated by Gujjar Solankis which the Bard Chandra bar dai counted 16 times (Once while going and once while coming) . This free passage to Ghori was given on the advice of Kaimas Dhama who was later got killed by Prithvi Raj Chauhan on jealousy. Kande Rao Dhama was also jailed by his since khande rao kot one Male elephant killed who got wild and who was favourite of Chauhan.
All these information were reaching Ghori through his Friend Jai Chand rathor ( Also the father in law of Prithvi Raj Chauhan) who have captured kannauj with the help of realier Muslim invaders. Jai Chand thought that this time they may capture Delhi with the help of Ghori. So in the second battle the morale of Khande Rao was very low since he was just released from the jail and his brother the war stragtegist and adviser of Chauhans, the Kaimas Dhama was also killed. These are the reasons why Prithvi raj Chauhan was defeated in the second battle. The other reason was that the Ghori also fooled them and send a message that he is withdrawing from the war and requested a ceasefire giving the reason that his eleder brother, the king of Ghor called him back. Chauhans agreed to this request but were taken over by a surprise attack by the Ghori in the same night for which they were not prepared.

Hi Ashok, There are lot of confusion about the sharing of various Gotras of the Imperial Gujjars by others. I have calrified the same about the Rajputs in the thread started by you at allempire.com while responding to one Rajput brother. In Rajasthan there are some Brahmins also share some Gotras with Gujjars like Dahima,Pratihars and there are also Brahmin like Gurjar Gaud. This is due to the fact that earlier the Brahmins, The Bards, Nais (The Barbers) used to be faithful to their own lord. Like the Bard of Baghrawat, the Brahmins of Baghrawat etc. This scene can still be revisited during marriages where the Pandit of the Gotra of the bride side can be seen engaged in the debate of knowlegde with the Pandit of the Gotra of the groom side or vice versa. That is the reason why the Barber are also called the Thakurs since they were barbers of Thakurs.
