Hi Mazhar Bhai,
Would you please give some more information about the Gujjars of SWAT and bordering Afghanistan? I am working to write an article that How the Greatest Warriors and Emperors of India, the Gujjars went to protect the frontiers of Undivided India from Malwa to Punjab, Bangala Desh, Karnataka and to Neelabh , Bajaur and Chitral atrea of Afghanistan and established their militray camps all over in those areas.
I have read in Babar nama who invaded India in 1527 AD well after about 400 years after the Gujjars lost the Imperial Powers that there is place in Swat called Gujjarbasi ( Near Payab). That is the place from where the Invader Alexgender also antered into India. The Gujjars Pratihars the Greatest Emperors of India placed their army at that place to check and defeat the Invaders there itself and which they were able to do so for nearly for 400 years. That is also the reason that these warriors who were placed at that Payab Ghat (Gujjarbassi), were having the best of Gujjars and were selected from all the Gujjar clans like Bharana, Kasanas,Guhilas ( Bappa Rawal must be part of this army), Chauhans etc. Some of them like Bajars must have found the name of their Gotra there itself who were made of the Rana of Bajaur or most likely must have named that area in the name of their Gotra. This fact is well establised that these Gujjar Warriors went from Gurjratra and Malwas only since they speak Gojri, the language of Gujjars which is not spoken by any other ethnic group living in that region.
With best regards. AP Singh
