Dear Gujjar Badshah, If you go in the past, the Gujrals are descendents of Gujjar Chandellas. Gujjar Chandellas were fuedatory kings of Gujjar Pratihars and were rulers of Kalinjar. The status of Gujjar Chandellas in the Royal court of Gujjar Pratihars was equal to that of Gujjar Chauhans. After the death of Emperor Dev Pal of Gujjar Pratihar dynasty in AD954 the Gujjar Pratihars of Kannauj lost their Imperial powers but continued to rule Kannauj till 1018AD when they were defeated Mahmud Gaznavi. Later Gaznavi attacked the Chandella kingdom Gujjars at Kalinjar but could not win. That time Vidyadhar Chandella was ruling the Kingdom. Later Gujjar Chauhans of Ajmer extended their kingdom to Delhi. It was because of two reasons. Firstly, they were pushed from Sakambri to Ajmer by another Gujjar tribe named Gujjar Solankis. Secondly they found it easier to expell the Gujjar Tanwars from Delhi, which were rescued on eralier occasion by Emperor Dev Pal when Gujjar Tanwar prince Salvan was captured by Gujjar Chauhan Simhraja of sakambri.
In Pakistan and Afghanistan you may not find the Gujjar Solankis since the services of Gujjar solankis were utilised to defeat the Rashtrakutas and Hunas in the south. You will find lot of Chauhans and their various branches, Pratihars and their varios branches, Guhilas and their various branches in Pakistan and Afghanistan since these Gujjar warriors were sent their to check the Arab armies and which they did for continuiously for three Hunderd years, from 7th. cetury to 10th. century.
The main reason of the fall of Gujjar Empire was infighting among them and not Gaznavid raids as generally wtitten by many historians.
The Khatris share many Gujjar Gotras, like Kohli, Chandellas (Gujral), Parihars ( Kalras says they are descendents of Pratihars), Bhatias etc. and there ic certainly some relationship aming them.
