Powerful Political Families of Gurjars

Gurjars have a strong clan system and support the people of their community and clan/ gotra during elections. It is also true that some families are controlling the majority of the Gurjars voting pattern during elections I am listing some very powerful Gurjar Families who have been influencing not only the Gurjar politics but the politics of their particular regions as well over many decades due to their dominance.

1. Chaudhary Yashpal Singh - Village Titron Distt Saharanpur, Gotra - Chokkar
He is now more than 90 years old and is Ex MP of Saharanpur (U.P.)and Congress minister and was UP Agriculture minister also. He is currently the National Vice President of Samajwadi Party. No matter who wins in Saharanpur , he has to take Chaudhary Yashpal Singh along with him. His son Rudrasen Chaudhary and Indrasen Chaudhary are senior leaders of Samajwadi party. His cousin Abhay Chaudhary is Vice president PACFED and Chairman DCDF and disst Cheif of Samajwadi party in saharanpur. Not only Gurjar but many other castes vote as per the directions of Chaudhary Yashpal Singh in distt Saharanpur.

2. Chaudhary Ram Saran Dass - he also belonged to Saharanpur and was permanent UP chief of Samajwadi party till he was alive. His son Jagpal is also a senior Samajwadi leader.

3.Chaudhary Yashvir Singh - he was Ex Chairman - Khadi Gramodyog. belongs to village Jasala in Distt Shamli(UP). His brother Chaudhary Virendra Singh has been elected to UP assembly continuously since last 25 years and served as Animal Husbandry Minister in UP. They have dominance of the 84 Chauhan / kalsyan villages in distt Shamli besides the Gurjars of many other clans in the area. The Supreme Court Sitting Hon'ble Judge Hon'ble Dr. Justice Balbir Singh Chauhan (b.02/07/1949)Term of Office: 11.05.2009 to 01.07.2014 also belong to this village. Gurjar villages are very well off and dominant in this region.

4.Chaudhary Narayan Singh - Ex UP deputy Chief Minister. Village Binra , distt Shamli(UP). His son is Sitting RLD MP from Bijnore Shri Sanjay Singh Chauhan.

4.Chaudhary Virendra Singh, who earlier fought from Kandhla and now from Shamli belongs to village Jasala Distt Shamli is also a state cabinet rank minister in UP and is Chairman of State Seed Development Corporation in UP.

5.Chaudhary Hukum Singh - He is the leader of BJP in UP assembly and has won numerous elections from Gurjar dominated seat of Kairana.He is also Ex UP minister.

6. NAGAR BROTHERS - The Nagar Brothers i.e. Malook Nagar ( Lok Sabha 2014 candidate of BSP from Bijnore) and Lakhi Ram Nagar (Ex Minor irrigation minister in previous BSP Govt)are also a powerful politically and have influence arount Meerut region.Malook Nagar is also an industrialist.

7. Mahendra Singh Bhati - He was once the King of Ghaziabad - Noida belt during 1980 - 1990's. he won many times from Dadri MLA seat and minister in Govt. His son also later became MLA from Dadri.

दो सत्ताधारी कद्दावरों पर टिकी गुर्जर राजनीति

समूचे उत्तर प्रदेश में दरकती शाख बचाने के लिए सपा का थिंक टैंक दिन रात एक किए है, जबकि नजरें खास तौर से पश्चिमी उत्तर प्रदेश पर टिकी है। मंत्रियों की बर्खास्तगी के बाद शुरू हुआ सपा का दामन छोड़ने का सिलसिला सियासी समुद्र को शांत नहीं होने दे रहा। इन हालात में भी पूर्व मंत्री वीरेंद्र सिंह और उनके पुत्र जिला पंचायत अध्यक्ष मनीष साइकिल से ही मंजिल तक पहुंचने का दम भर रहे हैं। हालांकि राजनीतिक हल्कों में चर्चागोशी चरम पर है।
लोकसभा चुनाव में परिवार तक सिमटी समाजवादी पार्टी का शीर्ष नेतृत्व कमजोरी तलाशने में जुटा है, साथ ही पार्टी की ओवरहालिंग शुरू कर दी। सबसे पहले इसके लपेटे में आए 36 राज्यमंत्रियों में शामली के पूर्व मंत्री वीरेंद्र सिंह व मुजफ्फरनगर की अनुराधा चौधरी शामिल रहे। लालबत्ती छिनते ही पूर्व मंत्री अनुराधा चौधरी ने सपा का दामन छोड़ दिया तो सियासी गलियारों में कयासों का दौर शुरू हो गया। कयास लगाए जा रहे थे कि पूर्व मंत्री वीरेंद्र सिंह व सपा के ही झंडे तले जिला पंचायत अध्यक्ष बने मनीष चौहान भी पार्टी को गुडबाय बोल सकते हैं। दोनों के भगवा चोला धरने की चर्चा जोरों पर रही। हालांकि करीबी इससे इन्कार करते रहे। उनका मानना है कि पूर्व मंत्री वीरेंद्र सिंह साइकिल की सवारी से ही राजनीतिक मंजिल तक पहुंचने की तैयारी में है। उधर, नवनिर्वाचित सांसद हुकुम सिंह का केंद्र में सत्तासीन भाजपा में भारी-भरकम वजूद है तो प्रदेश में सत्ताधारी सपा के वीरेंद्र सिंह के असर को भी इंकार नहीं किया जा सकता। दोनों मुजफ्फरनगर और शामली की गुर्जर राजनीति को खासा प्रभावित करते हैं। राजनैतिक पंडितों की इस पर नजर है कि दोनों सत्ताधारी गुर्जर कद्दावर अपनी बिरादरी को कितना लामबंद कर पाते हैं।
