20 Seats only...!!! In my opinion Gujjars' population is well above 30 Lacs in UP. There should be at least 30 contenders from different seats (Each one representing a Lac Gujjars). With 20 seats we can expect to win only 30% (i.e. 7 at the most).
Anyways, May God bless the deserving ones with victory.

Electoral situation in Deoband , Distt Saharanpur
Since 1989, Congress has never won the Deoband Assembly seat in Uttar Pradesh. IN the last election its candidate got just 1650 votes. This election too it is expected to lose. ALSO READ ‘Yes, Mayawati has performed but we will not vote for her’
Does Mayawati’s key to power lie in Muslim hands?
Who are the young and restless voting for?
Why? Walk around in the gallis of Deoband and talk to any shopkeeper or passing student of the Darul Uloom, and you get the answer.
Faisal Mehdi runs a printing press on Mahal Street near the main mosque. When asked what he feels about the 4.5 percent reservation promised by Congress, he is quick to point out the reservation is for minorities and not just Muslims. “Realistically Muslims would get only one percent and it is quite clear the declaration was made with elections in mind,” he says. Muslims in UP might be talking about reservations but not in Deoband, feels Nadimul Wajidi, editor of Tarjuman-e-Deoband. “It’s another tactic of Congress to fool Muslim voters,” says Wajidi, “Why should we take quotas away from OBC? If Congress is serious, it would give us separate reservation.”
The issue that is really going to hurt the Congress candidate Anil Tawar is the 2008 Batla House encounter in Delhi. Wajidi points out towards the contradiction within Congress party on this issue. “If CBI can enquire into Bhawari Devi’s killing, why not Batla house encounter?” he asks. Digvijaya Singh, one of the Congress leaders to demand an investigation into the Batla House encounter, was the only national level leader to have come to campaign here. “This shows how serious Congress is about a place like Deoband which is so dear to Muslims in UP,” says Mavia Ali, a Samajwadi Party (SP) activist. SP candidate Rajinder Rana seems to be more in favour among Muslims. But Rasoul, who is a student and votes in Azamgarh, feels the Muslims are getting divided between SP and Congress and thus BSP ends up benefiting.
BSP candidate and sitting MLA Manoj Chaudhary doesn’t have much resonance among Deoband Muslims. “Neither has he come to campaign, nor did he show us his face in the last five years,” says Mehdi. The reason lies in the electoral arithmetic. Chaudhary is a Gujjar and depends on 30 percent of the Dalit and 6 percent of the Gujjar votes, while the 40 percent Muslim votes get divided between other parties.
Interestingly, despite such a high number of Muslim voters and being an important seat of Islamic learning, Deoband has never had a prominent Muslim representative except once during the 1977 Janata Party wave. “Congress which calls itself a great campaigner of Muslims never encouraged any Muslims here,” says Wajidi.
In the 28 February election the Congress candidate might get some votes due to Rashid Masood, a former SP leader from the area who recently joined the Congress. But then Masood himself lost the last Parliamentary elections, voters point out.

Bhaiyon, main aap sab login se ek baat punchna Chata Hoon. Abhi recently main muzafarnagar Gaya tha. Wahan Maine dekha ke Ajit Singh ki rally main bhadana ne Ajit ke pair choo liye. Dekh kar bahut bura laga. Kya jeet itni imp hai ke uske liye hum kisi ke bhi samne jhokne ke liye tayaar hain. Jats are always against Gujjars. I am from bulandshahr and I know what Jat think of us. All my Jat friend says that madam bhaiya and bhadana cannot win seats without Jat support. It is against Gujjar history and honor to fight election on the RLD ticket. Your thoughts Please.

In my view the most important thing is how to grab the power i.e. by hook or by crook....! We should learn something from Brahmins who do not hesitate to touch feet of (so called Dalit lady) Mayawati...! Another important thing which I fail to understand why we don't accept the reality that Jats are more than Gujars in numbers, have strong social organisation, are united, more educated, more in Government jobs...etc. Jats have emerging leadership at every level and in every state and are not blind followers of any particular family. Jats have leaders of big stature in every state.. Gujars do not... !Do we have Sir Chhotu Ram, Ch Charan Singh, Devilal, Bansilal, Nathuram / Ramniwas Mirdha, Sheesh Ram Ola, Balram Jakhad, Sahab Singh Verma, Hooda, Tikait, Maderrna.... ? In west UP, Muslims are in maximum numbers, followed by Jatavs and Jats. The other dominant communities are Gujars and Tyagi. Now see the political importance of Gujars in West UP, Ch Yashpal Singh (the veteran leader from Saharanpur) is left with no choice but to leave Congress whereas Ajit Singh is made a Cabinet Minister by Congress...! The Congress Party where the one & only Gujar "Yuvraj" is a state Minister fails to give any ticket to the community but promises to Jats to give reservation in Central OBC List. Kartar Bhadana is imported from Hariyana to contest on a RLD ticket and is made National General Secretary of RLD. It clearly shows that there is no strong & long term leadership among Gujars in any state which is recognized by the main stream political parties ! The entire media presents West UP as JATLAND ...! The Gujars hardly have any leadership committed to the cause of community except a bunch of Jokers (uneducated or less educated or/and with criminal background) who are mostly "Pichlaggu" & devoid of any vision for the community ! They do not have the ability to attract voters from the other communities. Every where the Jats ensure tactical voting to ensure win of their community whereas the Gujars are a devided house and as a result gift the seat to other community...! Last but not the least Gujars should built community based alliances by give and take policy in elections be it Jats, Muslims, Brahmins etc No body can afford to make community based parties particularly Gujars who are less in numbers, without alternative educated leadership and who fail to make bridges with other communities....! Ch. Charan Singh or Mulayam Singh or Mayawati or Lalu or Nitish all leaders had caste based equations with other dominant communities (Yadav + Muslim + Kurmi+ Jatav...+...+...+) to build a strong alliance but Gujars neither have leadership nor any vision ! How can you afford to support any party by one Crore Gujar population of India without visionary & educated leadership.............! I salute the vision of Mayawati who successfully built equations / alliances with other communities and also supported Gujars of West UP. Gujars should be united, educate themselves and allow emergence of new leadership at every level ! Gujars have to go a long way !

Dear Satyendra Your all point regarding gurjar community like salt in sweet but thats the actual picture which we dont want to accept. I was too very much assured that our community will rise fast, but no that was a mirror image.
The actual status is that we dont have any strong leadership which was once like Ch. Narain Singh, Ch yashpal Singh and Ram Chandra Vikal. Now all leadership from Nagar to Bhadanas are rise b'coz of money. No ground root leadership is generated in last 20 years.
Its all Ms Mayawati mercy that She made two ministers in her rule. Otherwise Congress already discarded Gurjars and You have already seen the reality of BJP in Rajasthan.
Satyendra ji, Its not matter you have 6 Crore or 1 crore, but important is that your vote is united or not?
You will see the reality of UP election and Gurjar candidates result in 4 days.
Reality is true fact that we are week than other community which we compare with us.
We are still not educated and if you want to search simple B.Sc.-Ag and M.Sc. Ag, you will not find a single in rural area, but for other particular community the numbers are in crowd.
Engineering gradutaes are still countable. We are not learnning with our failures.
The one point agenda is that we dont want to learn but teach.
Our community's so called leaders are trying to demolish social organisations such as Gurjar sabha, Mahasabha, vikas Munch etc. and playing politics.
after election they forget gurjars.
Anyways criticism is not the way out of any problems. Thease problems are created from our own homes.
We have to change these things as soon as possible, otherwise time will not give us the second chance to grow.
We can not live worst in present only to remember the Golden past.
We are not here to criticise our community but to improvement in ourself, Start to do better from self.
We are much better as we were 20 years behind.
You ever think that why our 4 times MP Sh. Avtar Singh Bhadana was not made central minister by congress, reason is nothing but education
or
we are unable to prove the power of united Gurjar community to make pressure on these Political parties.
Prove your unity and make agitation and dont give up without success.
We should not be loosers like rajasthan, the biggest price paid by any community in India after indepandence. What result after 120 deaths?
Nothing, Our blood is freezed. There is one person killed of particular community and they are demanding Shahid Status from the government, and government agree. This is the power of unity. They are educated, strong leadership, well employed, well businessman.
We can also be same but need some courage.
Try to be the best as we can be too.
Satyendra Ji, One crore nahi 10 crore hai hum. Thoda samay lag raha hai jagane mein, But definately tomorrow is of 10 crores Gurjars.
Gurjar has awaked from Jammu Kashmir to Maharastra, gujarat, Karnatka, MP, Haryana. The proof is that different sub caste or name or caste name gurjars from 10 states are proudly saying Gurjars only.
Ab Gurjar kehne mein Samman hai jo 20 years pehle nahi tha.
Jai veer Gurjar Land

I fully agree with the issues concerning the identity of Gurjar in pesent times. Gurjar are more disunited today despite having the general level of education and living standard having improved over the last 20 years.
In politics I dont know any name of Gurjar leader who has any presence outside his own distt. Earlier in UP we had Ram chandra vikal (EX Deputy CM), Chaudhary Narain Singh (EX Deputy CM), Rajesh Pilot.
But none of today Gurjar leadership has the courage to take the Gurjar Cause or interest.
Nagars of Meerut(Malook Nagar, Lakhiram Nagar - Minister of Irrigation, UP) and Noida(Surendra Singh Nagar - MP of Noida) are rich businessman . Kartar Singh Bhadana goes to any seat which has Gurjar votes to fight an election in any state. But Chaudhary Yashpal Singh ( Ex MP and Agriculture Minister - UP) who recently left Congress and joined SP is now nearly 90 year old still has following among Gurjars in Muzaffarnagar ,Saharanpur and Meerut belt.
Besides their is lack of new generation Gurjar politicians who have mass appeal.
Take the example of Khatauli, Distt Muzaffarnagar which after new delimitation has now huge Gurjar population and reduction in Jat population. But instead of local Gurjar , Kartar got ticket for himself by joining RLD.
Another glaring example is the Garh seat in Ghaziabad . This is a predominantly rural seat which has now become Gurjar dominated and has 50 thousand Gurjars, 30 thousand Jat, 26 thousand Chauhan Thakur, 20 thousand Tyagi besides 60 thousand Dalit and Muslim but not a single Gurjar is standing fom this seat from any party. But 2 thakur and 1 Jat is fighting on this seat.
How will you have power when our leaders dont even contest properly.
One more seat is Chata in Mathura and this seat has now many Gurjars as many Gurjar villages transferred from Mant to Chata in delimitation. BJP was giving the ticket to a Gurjar fom Chata but denied at last moment.
Just see how many tickets congress give to Gurjar despite the popular image that Gurjar are pro Congress. RLD gave ticket to Kartar Bhadana who is from Haryana and Madan Bhaiya only. BSP denied the ticket to sitting Gurjar MLA fom Nakud in Saharanpur.
Seats like Rampur Maniharan( 50 thousand Gurjar)in Saharanpur, Hastinapur ( 50 thousand Gurjar) in Meeut are reserved for SC.
Also Gurjar leaders have failed to get maximum tickets for Gurjar fom their parties.
Many seats in the Distt of West / Central UP like Khairagarh (Agra) Hassanpur ( Amroha) Mirganj (Bareilly) , Ajitmal( Auriya), Jalaun have good Gurjar population but we seldom get MLA from there.
Time has now come to get united and show a united face of Gurjar Community to the political parties and their bosses and the other castes in the region.I am of the opinion that Gurjar can have upto 15 MLA in UP.

Gurjershawar Bahi,
Hamare alwava koi nahin kehta ke hum 10 crore hain. Na media and koi social activist. Agar hai to plz info provide karo. Hum logon ko shauk pada gaya and Jhoota proponganda karne ka.
Recently abhi Hindustan times per aya thaa ke Jat 10 crore hain aur hum sabh gujjar yeh kehten ke hum Jaton se do guna jyada hai. Too iss hisab se hum 20 crore hue. Phir too aur bhi sharam ki baat hai ke 20 crore hoke bhi na too hamara koi CM hai, Na kabhi army main Genreal Hua, na hum sportsmen produce karte.
Hamari soch yeh honi chahiye ke hum agar doosri communities hum se kam hain to kya hau lekin hum iradon main kisi se kum nahin hain. Aur hamen padhna chahiye taki hum jobs main uncha darza le saken. Main Jaton se pyaar nahin karat lekin agar dushman koi achayee ho to usse kabook karne main koi burayee nahin.

Dear Bhati ji Hum gurjars ki ek bahut hi buri aadat hai, Pehle to kuch kaam karenge nahi, Aur koi dusra yadi kuch aage badh kar accha kaam kare to usme apni taang aada do. Na hum kuch karenge na dusre ko hi karne denge. i am not comparing Gurjars with any one, cuz comparison possible only in same level and we are not anywhere in education, politics nor in jobs even we are in crores. We do nothing but write article on message board and discuss in forums. YOu haven't read my article carefully. You jyst strucked on population of Gurjars. I am not saying this, but it is published by Hindustan Times. You dont know that Gurjar live in 14 states. They use different subcaste with Gurjar, like reve gurjar, bad gurjar from khandesh maharastra, gurjar padiya from konkan etc. here i am not describing in detail but want to explain you that read the other state news paper and magzines also. You will know that after Rajasthan agitation they are using Gurjar subcaste and proudly connect themselves with great Gurjat tribe. But this is our problem that we dont want to live on real ground nor we want to accept reality. What we do, you can see in Ghaziabad (Bhatner), Bulanshahr and in Noida. Our Cast deivided in Bhatis and Nagars. We defeated Mr. Ram Chandra Vikal in that election, when Ms Indira Gandhi had decided to make him Chief Minister. Mr. Vikal was king maker and biggest force to make Mr. Charan Singh as CM, even majority of MLA was with Mr. Vikal. He revolted from Congress and formed Kranti Dal. But he decided to offer CM post to by saying elder borther Mr. charan Singh and he made as Dy. CM. But Ms Gandhi applied all her power to get back Mr. Vikal in congress. She announced openly Mr. Vikal as CM in next election. But what our caste did??? We have defeated Mr. Vikal and defeated our cast future also. Who defeated us? other community ? no, that was our own community. It was report that some of Gurjar subcaste will try to defeat him, and congress offered a option him to contest from khekra, sikandrabad or dadri. But he denied and fought election from same place. Mr. Bhati won that election and Gurjar Caste defeated. The sunrise of Gurjar caste become sunset. After him no gurjar leadership rise in U.P. But Ms Indira Gandhi and Congress gave him full respect and offer ticket from Baghpat against Mr. Charan Singh. Once he won when he defeted Mr. Raghuvir Shahstri (father of Sompal shastri), when Mr. charan Singh contested from Muzaffarnagar and defeated. Nex two election Mr. Charan Singh Won. Personally he was vey close to Mr. Charan Singh as both were from rural background and had same ideology. Even then he was made J&K incharge, President All india Kisan Congress and M.P. (Rajya Sabha) and offered Governor post 9which he denied). He was 5 times MLA and Three times MP. After Ms Indira Gandhi congress or any other party dont think Gurjars as united Force. I fully agree with Mr. satyendra that Ms Mayawati has the only leader who thought for Gurjars and given the opportunity to contest the election. We will have to work hard to make our own identity. You see your own that where the Mr. Charan Singh caste stand and where Gurjars. view the attached file and find the proof of our 10 crores. Pleaee excuse me if i used any hard word but i hope you will try to understand a pain being a Gurjar. Regards Jai Gurjar Land Attachments:
