All the later Gujjar clans excpet Chechi, Kasana, Khatana, Bergat and Gorsi were either the descendents of these five major clans or the mixture of Gujjars and Sycthians.
Like the Hepthalites which entered Indian in 467 AD under Torman* or Turram-Khan or Toorhan were mixture of Turkic, Iranian (collectively called sycthian) , red huns, hepthalites, Rourans, Huns and Kushans.# *(Tomaran in sanskrit giving Tomar surname to its descendents but still many Tomar Jats and Gujjars use Tuar or toor as their surname).
# There is one other catch to it. It is said that all these tribes even including the tatars and turks were of same origin and their ancestor named Agooz or Aginje Khan. Here "Khan" or "Han" was a title used by all warriors tribes.

Dear Ashok, The Origin of Gujjars is India only. This migration theory was given to mislead the people by the Historians of slavery period of the country after the fall of Gujjar Empire to establish the Illegitimate History.
There is reference of Gurjar village in a Sankrit book called "Hitopdesh" and this book was written sometime 3rd. century BC.
At the peak of Gujjar Kushan ( Called Kasana gotra now a days who are mostly populated in present day Pakistan and Afghanistan) Empire the border of the Gujjar Empire was Georgia and that supports the migration theory of Aryans to Germant through that route.
The Gujjars were called as Al-Juzr ( distorted to Ajars or Ajarias)by the Persian scholars and that is why there are placed named after the tribe called Azarbaizan. There are still old Shiva temples located in Azarbaizan.
One or two name of the places could be a coincidence but there are many words used in Central Asia which were used only to address the Imperial Gujjars like:-
Czar=Ajars ( Al-Juzrs) used in cetral asia for Emperor class of tribes. Geogia= Jujaria ( nothing but Gurjara of sanskrit written in persian). AzarBaizan, Chechanya ( named after Chechi), Gujar and Kasan district of Uzbekistan.
Not only that word Uzbak ( Uzbek) is still used among Gujjars for the troublesome people and that means the Gujjars had eralier exposure to this tribe.
Moreover Tanwar Gotra of Gujjars was Tin+Har which was used for the rulers of Gujjars tribe who were the lords of the land which used to give three crops in year. Pehova near Kurushetra was earliest capital of Gujjar Tanwars before their kingdom was extended up to Delhi during the period of Gujjar Emperor Mihir Bhoja the Great.
Similarly Do+Har = Dor, Char+Har= Chahar ( Chawad, Chawda etc. and Chauhan, Dhabi, Solanki, Vaghela are sub branch of this Gotra of Gujjars).
The Emperor were called Prithvi+Har= Prithvihars ( Means lords of Universe).( See incription of Gujjar Chauhans)
Not only that even Brahmins like Dwedi, Trivedi, Chaturvedi, Mukhya+Upadhyaya etc. were also named during the Gujjar Empire only.

Khatana is very prominent Gotra of Gujjars. The Mother of Dev Narayan who was born in 968AD was from Gujjar Khatana Gotra and Father was a Gujjar Chauhan. His grandmother was Rajput Woman and other he had 24 grand mothers from all the castes. So it a very old Gotra of Gujjars.
Khatana Gujjars ruled on Behalf of Gujjar Prithvihars (means lord of the Universe and distorted to Pratihar in Indian History).
In japanese the meaning of Khatana is sword of Samurais which siginifies the that Khatana Gotra always formed first line of Defence and offence as far as Gujjars Empire and for that matter the defence undivided India was Concerned.

This is due to the fact that the Gujjar were refused entry it army during British Period. I have seen a book on Google.co.in but could not find it today as reference. This book is written by a Britisher and he say that though the Gujjars are refused entry in the army but some of them join by associating themselves with other favoured castes of Britishers.
Even Brahmins were not welcome but they were not refused entry like Gujjars. Col Todd has mentioned that as a precaution the Brahmins were not kept together in groups since they could create problems for Britishers in the Groups.
That is the reason the Gujjars and Brahmins have no Regiments in Indian Army even today since in Independent India no regiment can be formed on caste lines.

The Bhardwaj Brahmins are associated with Gujjars since generations. There are historical records available of ninth and tenth century where Brahmins of these Gotras were given villages and temple as gifts by the Gujjar Emperors.
There were a branch of Brahmins who were giving their priestly services to only the Gujjar Emperors and were called Gujar Brahmins as mentioned in the Census of India 1901.

Similarly the following Gotras of Gujjars were named after the territory they ruled over.
Kohli: The Rulers of Kol region ( The area around present day Aligarh and bordering the area ruled by Dor ( Dode, Dodhi, Dedhe) Gujjars.
Nagari ( Nagadi or Nagar): The rulers of Nagda region near Ujjain the original seat of Gujjar Pratihar. Their domain were extended up to present day Uady Pur and Nagda Valley during expansion of Gujjar Empire. Rawal Udai Singh Nagari founded the city of UdaiPur where, Udai Singh, the father of Rana Pratap found refuge after Udai Singh Nagari sacrificed in the battle with Babar. ( See Memoirs of Babar). In some of Indian prints the word Nagari is deliberately removed).
Bar Gujjar: The Gujjar rulers of Baran situated in present day Rajasthan and bordering Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh. Ujjain was the original seat of Gujjar Pratihars. Later during the expansion of Gujjar Empire their domains were extended up to present day Alwar. Raja Mathan Dev belonged to this clan of Gujjars.

In my earlier post I said the Bajad ( Bajjar) and Nagdi (Nagara, Nagar Nagari ) gotra are the same. They were the rulers of Bagad Pradesh and Nagda was the capital. Rana Udai Singh Nagari ( See Babarnama) was the last king of Nagari Gujjars of Udai Pur at Nagda hills.
During the time of they Nagabhatta the Great in 8th. century they went to Afghanistan to beat the Arab invaders and founded Nandarhar and Bajour in swat areas. bajour is still called by the same name but Nagarhar is renamed as jalalabad after the division of the country.
The Parikshat garh fort in Meerut which was converted to Police station during the First war of independence belonged to Nagdi Gujjars. See the proof here: During the time of Mihir Bhoj the Fort Commander was also a Nagara (Nagar) from Varrajjra (Bajad) family. The Vishnu Temple at gwalior fort is made by nagari Gujjars.
