...........Continued from : ["Please talk about present..........."]
I respect and welcome the views expressed by learned members of this site……!
When I talk about present it includes the period of 60 years i.e. 1947 to 2007 where every citizen of this country was free to choose education and job of his choice, was free to participate in the political system, was free to do any business…….and so on !
During this phase of democratic India, agriculture based communities such as Yadavs, Jats, Kurmi etc. and even Mali in the Northern India have been able to make good progress in every sphere of life.
But think for a moment seriously and compare Gujars with these communities in today’s context…!
I do accept that I have limited exposure and knowledge of Gujars residing in the NCR (Delhi and its surrounding area), Haryana and Western Uttar-Pradesh.
Will anybody provide me following information so that I can re-consider my opinion and strategy to discuss at this social platform and also get involved in ‘Jugaali of our golden past’………………?
•How many Gujars have qualified Civil Services Examination in the last 60 years from the area highlighted above?
•How many IAS and IPS officers are posted in the national capital i.e. the power centre of the country belonging to Gujar community whose domicile is of the area mentioned above?
•How many Gujars have been appointed Governor of states, vice chancellor of Universities, member of Union Public Service and State Service Commissions in the last 60 years?
•How many judges have been appointed in the Supreme Court, High courts and district courts belonging to Gujar community in the last 60 years?
•How many professors are there in Delhi University, JNU and other universities belonging to Gujar community?
•How many DOCTORS are there in All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) or other hospitals of NCR belonging to Gujar community?
•How many STUDENTS are there in IIT, Delhi belonging to Gujar community?
•How many STUDENTS are there in Indian Institute of Management belonging to Gujar community?
*How many GIRLS have taken professional degree like MBBS, Engineering, MBA, LLB in the last 60 years or presently studying for the same?
•How many MANUFACTURING UNITS and industries (excluding dairy) have been established by Gujars in the area highlighted above?
•How many Member of Parliament have been elected by Gujars in the area highlighted above?
•How many Gujars are there in the Rajya-sabha?
The questionnaire may be endless but it will again be a futile exercise because the answer of most of the questions is known to everybody living in present world…..!
I know my dear friends that the truth is always sour that is why we avoid talking in present context and do ‘Jugaali’ of a bygone era…………!
The idea is not to discourage any one…….but we should accept reality and do efforts to increase our representation and participation in modern India ………!
And the best way of achieving the goal is education and awareness…..!
I welcome your valuable comments ………..!

Dear Satyendra, You will have to read history ( in your words do ateet ki jugali) for the reasons. Now I will ask you few questions about others whom you have written.
1. How many villages the others have where no male member of more than 12 years of age was left alive after 1857 freedom of struggle? There were so many of Gujjar villgaes and Fatah Pur of Gujjar tanwars of Delhi was one of them. You can not expect within these 150 years for these Gujjar Tanwars to become 100% literate and become IAS officers but they are doing very well in business and atleast more than 50 families are doing business of more 100 crore each per annum. 2. How many forts belonging to others were converted to police stations. Priakshat garh fort of Gujjar Nagaris was the one.
The city of Uday Pur is named after the Udai Singh Nagari who sacrificed his life along with 12000 of his cavalry men with the forces of Babar at Khanwa and these Gujjar Nagaris ( Also called Nagde, Nagar etc.) did not return to Nagda and during the down fall of Mughal empire established a new kingdom at Praikdhat Garh.
3. History is a subject and not be degraded by anyone by just writing it as ateet ki jugali. One may also opt for this subjebt in IAS but according to your suggestion we should sto discussing our history and forget it. It is like writing off the names from our ancestral properties which is more than 60 years old and acquire the new one. I would request you to lead by example to write all your ancestral properties which is more than 60 year old, atleast in the names of your near and dear ones, if not others.
How starange is your suggestion, more so because the britishers have already wrtitten our history in the names of others and instead of fighting to gain it you are siggesting not to discuss the same. I think no body is such a fool to forget his own career and write and discuss only history sinced we all are doing professionally very well at the same time and dont actually need suggestions. However if this discussion in any way going against the intrest of the society please inform so that we can stop doing so?

You both are right please dont get emotional. We have to work hard for good present and brite future by remembering of glorious past and also taking lesson from our past mistakes. If any body wants to make his graveyad from his own hands than he inly have to forget his past because those who forget thjeir histotry than others will change your geography.Thats why we have nothing now to prouid because our history is in other community accounts.

Muslim emperors ruled the entire country for almost 800 years but you will not find a single person belonging to Muslim community engaged in discussing their ‘golden past’. Instead they are more concerned about their present condition and struggling for betterment of the same. For example they are pressurizing the central Government as well as state Governments to implement ‘Sachar Committee Report’ and for this bigger cause they are united irrespective of their political ideology, sect or region.
The leaders like Sir Syyad Ahmad Khan, Sir Chootu Ram, Jyoti Ba Phoole and Dr B R Ambedkar understood the importance of education and encouraged their community members for the same. All these leaders were from the backward lot of the society and even for some it was impossible to trace a single thread of history but today we can see the large number of their fellow members occupying important positions in modern India.
To the best of my knowledge there is no significant place of Yadavs in history texts of India. Contrary to it they have occupied good position in just 60 years with the help of education, awareness and using tool of social justice (by uniting all peasant classes and deprived classes). They have explored the Government sector successfully which was available to all OBCs (including Gujars) after implementation of Mandal commission’s report.
The ‘Jats’ of princely states of Bharatpur and Dholpur struggled successfully to get included in the OBC list of Rajasthan to grab Government jobs and representation in local bodies. That is why I recognize them as a community who adjusted themselves as quickly as possible in tune with the prevailing circumstances .
Of course the reasons of the present day condition of Gujars may be attributed to a certain extent to the historical background and their attitude towards invaders (including Britishers). But we have to accept our failure to cope with the changing scenario of modern democratic India. It is also a great failure on part of the social as well as political leadership of the community who could not motivate the community to increase its share, representation or participation at different socio-economic forums and institutions.
But now we should pledge that we will encourage our brothers: • To provide good education to their children (including girls). • To grab government as well as private sector jobs. • To find new ways of self employment for financial security (other than dairy & agriculture). • To increase political representation with the help of unity. • To get rid off social evils. • To choose leaders who have a vision for the society instead of ‘satta ke dalaal’ who have converted 1 crore (approx) strong Gujars into ‘bondage vote banks’.

To get something in life one has to set his own target. In case of Gujjars, the good thing is we respect our elders and our ancestors a lot. Fortunately we have a golden history which is nothing but created by the great deeds of our ancestors who conqurered the world from present day India to Georgia ( which is nothing but Gurjara written in persian lanuage. Hence if we set our traget at level even at lower than 1% of what our ancestors have achieved, it is enough to reach at the top.
The Word Jar in Russia ( means the emperors) is also a distorted form of Juzr and Al-Juzr and Juzr are distorted form of the word Gurjara in central asian languages.
Fortunately the Gujjars have given two National leaders to the country after the independence, The Iron man of India, Sardar Patel and Rajesh Pilot. Unforunately they could find enough time to devote to their own community but we are proud of them that they reserved the highest place in the history of country by resolving the issues of highest National importance. We should take inspiration from their character to touch to the heights achieved by them in their life.
The present conditions of Gujjars can also be lragely attributed to their history since they have not submiited to invaders. The fought decisive battles (AAR Paar ki Ladai) and after ruling the large part of asian sub continents lost everything with the passage of time to various invaders but their present condition is certainly better than the decendents of Mughals who are mostly raikshaw pullers now a days and the Britishers are responsible for their present condition since without sppressing them the British rule was not possible in India. Similarly without suppressing Gujjars, the former emperors the Mughal and British rule was not possible in India.
The Gujjars should not be misled by anybody and should take the practical approach to improve thier economical/educational conditions. The Gujjars of rajasthan should also stop child marriages which is only practiced among Gujjars in part of the world.
The Gujjars were not farmers originally and they were forced to do farming during Mughal period. The Gujjars were a pastoral tribe which was an essential character of Great warriors and conquerers to tame the animals and take the best out of it. Hence the Gujjars should not leave milk business ( Since they find any beeter alternate source of income) but increase the prices of milk which currently being sold under valued at least by 50% of its production cost. The Mongols were another tribe of warriors in asia who knew how to take the best out of animals and that is theason the complete milk supply of china is only from Mongolia region.
Also the Gujjars should join army as a profession. The present condition of jats can largely be attributed since they joined army in British regime. I have personally observed that the second generations of Army jawans can be easily upgraded to join as officers since their childeren get the opportunity to get better education and the devlopment is a slow process and can not achieved in day.

In Rajasthan the political representation of Gujars is in a transit phase. They can win up to 15 seats easily but their socio-economic and educational background is a major hurdle to achieve the actual representation based on their population figures.
